I’ve been in the adult fitness business for over 50 years, and helping people live stronger, healthier lives has always been my passion. My journey started back in college, where I earned both my BS and MS degrees and worked as the strength coach at Slippery Rock University. From there, I moved into roles at the Butler Y as a fitness specialist and later became the Physical Fitness Director at the Central YMCA in downtown Columbus in 1979.
I hold certifications as a personal fitness trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine, as a strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and in CPR/AED through the American Heart Association. Since 1995, I’ve been working directly with clients, and today I specialize in training seniors. The majority of my clients are age 50 and older, with many well into their 70s and 80s.
I offer both one-on-one and group training sessions in a supportive gym environment. My approach is friendly and easygoing—I take the time to get to know each client, so your fitness plan feels personal, not cookie-cutter. Whether we’re working individually or in a small group, my goal is always the same: to help you build strength, maintain mobility, and enjoy a healthier lifestyle.
Sessions are available at Next Level Fitness in Gahanna (Monday and Wednesday mornings, 8–11am) and at Powell Fitness in Powell (daily). Rates are $60 for solo sessions and $20–$30 per person for group sessions, depending on group size.
